Stuc a' Chroin 5000
Another great day out as Andrew Douglas (2:10:16) from Westerlands ran out a close fought win just 49 seconds ahead of Fergus Roberts (2:11:05) from Ochil and Robin Downie (2:13:33) from Lochaber.
For the women, Catriona Graves (2:47:06) came in 1st, with 2nd Clara-Jane Irvine (2:58:38) from Deeside, and 3rd, Helen Fallas (3:01:11) from Carnethy.
Carnethy and Ochil had a real tussle for team prize with Carnethy just pipping them by under 2 minutes in total.

Ben Sheann Race 15th May
Part of the Bog'n'Burn Series, this Category AS race is 3.4k long with a 400m ascent. Registration
Gaelic for 'Mountain of the Fairies', you still have to be tough to run it - this is the stocky little brother of the Stuc a' Chroin 5000.
What better way to spend an hour than a trip up Ben Sheann on a beautiful summer's evening in May. You can do a full days work, drive to Strathyre, see some mates, run up Ben Sheann and down again, pick up your prize, sup a well deserved ale or vino, and head home. And ... it's still light, so if these light summers evenings are keeping you awake, this is the perfect antidote.

Mini-Stuc Race, Thursday 2nd May, 2024
10 Primary schools brought 160 pupils to the 5th annual mini-Stuc Race.
It was great to see the next generation coming up from P4 to P7
Angela Mudge and Active Scotland presented the prizes on a fantastic day.

The race is run annually on the Saturday before May Day Bank Holiday Monday. This year, 2024, it is taking place on May 4th.
Usually blessed with good weather, its timing at the beginning of May does mean that there may be a variety of conditions - consult the forecast before your journey ... and don't forget the midge repellant as well as your mandatory equipment. There will be an up-to-date forecast of local conditions right up to the start on this web site in the Stop Press section.

About the Race
Conquer the Stuc a' Chroin and Ben Each peaks in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park
The Stuc a' Chroin 5000 hill race is an annual event that will test your limits. With a total climb of over 5000 feet (1500m) and a distance of 20k, you will tackle the stunning summits of Ben Each and the Stuc a’ Chroin amidst the beauty of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.
This year, the race takes place on May 4th, 2024 in Strathyre, Perthshire at 13:00.
Allow plenty of time for the journey and registration. It's early May Bank Holiday and traffic from Stirling, past Blair Drummond Safari Park, and through Callander can double the normal journey time.
There's a licensed bar and free ceilidh after the race. Bar open from 5, and ceilidh starts at 8pm
