Race History

The Stuc a’Chroin 5000 Hill Race, first run in 1988, will be 36 years of age on Saturday the 4th May 2024 of which 34 races have been run. 

The race is hosted and marshalled by residents of Strathyre, Lochearnhead and Balquhidder communities, as well as many others who come from far and wide every year to be part of this great race. 

The Race was a Scottish Championship, Scottish Hill Runners race and East of Scotland championship race in 2022 and hosted a UK and Scotland Championship race in 2017. 

2025 will see the Stuc a' Chroin 5000 once again a UK and Scottish Championship race.
